In Ohio County Schools, we love a good #alumnispotlight! Meet Wheeling Park High School alumna, class of 2001’s Somer.
Somer Strothers attended Wheeling Catholic Elementary before her high school career began at Wheeling Park High School.
While at Park, Strothers participated in cheering, basketball, and softball.
“OCS prepared me for the world we are in today by providing a solid, academically sound curriculum. The education received reached well beyond the classroom,” she explains.
“At the heart of this formative period was an academically rigorous curriculum that consistently pushed boundaries. With courses such as Advanced Placement (AP) English and Biology I was able to prepare for higher education and future careers at an early age. These weren’t just avenues for earning college credits early; they ignited an intellectual curiosity and a drive for analytical thinking that transcended the classroom. Through these challenging subjects, I learned to dissect complex ideas, articulate nuanced arguments in essays, and approach scientific inquiry with precision.
“My success in these areas, often recognized through academic competitions and impactful projects, not only bolstered my confidence but also paved the way for valuable college scholarships.
“Beyond academics, the school system was filled with supportive coaches and mentors who genuinely invested in their students. While at Wheeling Park High I wasn’t just an athlete, I was family. Participating in basketball, softball, and cheerleading taught me invaluable life lessons. Under their mentorship, my experiences honed discipline, forged resilience, instilled a strong work ethic, and cultivated an innate ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
“Reflecting on those years, I am profoundly grateful for a community and school system that blended ambition with genuine care. It created an atmosphere where every student felt seen and supported, providing both the tools and the encouragement to turn those dreams into tangible achievements. Now, those achievements are my reality!

“I currently reside in Los Angeles California. I am a partner at ME Dental Spa & Aesthetics, a premier dental practice located off Sunset Boulevard. I provide care to a diverse clientele, including celebrity patients and residents throughout Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, and the greater Los Angeles community.
“In addition, I’ve obtained post medical certification from Harvard for Stem Cell Biology and Neuroscience. I am a 6x pro athlete, sports fitness model and Neuroscience coach. Lastly, I am the founder and CEO of Infinity luxury performance. I am very committed to lifelong learning and scientific innovation.
“As a neuroscience coach, clinician, and entrepreneur I am passionate about helping individuals optimize both mind and body."
Her most fulfilling role?
“Being a mother to my beautiful 16 year old daughter, Mila.”
