Animal Visit
Supervised by Wheeling Park High School Agriculture and FFA supervisor, Ethan Bloomfield, Young Farmers and Ranchers visited Woodsdale Elementary School and provided a memorable morning!

Scheduled for today at 10:45, Young Farmers and Ranchers, Mr. Bloomfield, and two WPHS students presented The Book Barn to Woodsdale.  According to Bloomfield, “The Book Barn program has been around for a few years as a way to provide accurate literature to young people in the field of agriculture.”

There were also calves and lambs present for students to meet and greet!

The program offers a great chance at school-wide collaboration.  “One of my students, Marshall Supanik, was the lead builder behind this Book Barn and it is a way to collaborate between both the agriculture and carpentry programs.”

The hope is that programs like this help to promote an interest in agriculture in younger students.  “Young people often don’t know where their food comes from besides the grocery store. As stewards and students of agriculture, my students should be advocates for all aspects of agriculture, and the best way to bridge the gap is by presenting factual information to young students.”

Thank you WTRF 7News, Lede News, and The Intelligencer / Wheeling News-Register for great coverage of this fun event!
