Good deeds happen every single day. ❤️

A recent Intelligencer / Wheeling News-Register article highlighted the good deed of two young Wheeling Park High School student-athletes, and today we got to follow up with freshman JoJo Davis and sophomore Nate Davis.

Over the weekend, the two were headed home from football practice when they noticed a woman struggling with her groceries.

“We were heading to the basketball courts, and she was just struggling to get her groceries situated,” Nate explained.
So they stopped to help.

What may have felt like a small, everyday act of kindness to JoJo and Nate meant enough to the woman they helped that she reached out to the local news to share their story.

“Doc (WPHS AD and Head Football Coach, Chris Daugherty) tries his best to make us do the right thing. He says that what we do on the field, we do off the field, and he expects us to represent Park,” JoJo said.

And that is exactly what they did.  Those lessons are intentional.

“Myself and our coaches are constantly challenging our players to hold themselves to a higher standard and make the right decisions, both on and off the field. We talk often about how doing the little things the right way can lead to big success in life. Those lessons go far beyond the stadium,” adds Daugherty.

We are proud of these two young men for representing themselves, their teammates, their families, and their school so well.

Sometimes the smallest acts of kindness make the biggest impact.
