student and parent posing in Europe
Wheeling Park High School recently went global.  25 French and Spanish students joined 15 teachers and chaperones while they visited both France and Spain last week.

We wanted to hear more about this trip first hand, so we spoke to one of our favorite father-daughter duos, French I and II teacher, Mr. Titus-Glover, and his daughter, WPHS student Hadassah.  Read on to learn more about this pretty epic opportunity!

“It was a great experience,” both Mr. Titus-Glover and Hadassah echo.  Titus-Glover is well-traveled and last year, his family ventured to Ghana to visit his extended family, but this is the first time Hadassah has had the chance to spend any actual time in Europe.  “I really liked the culture of Madrid.  It was so lively.  The people were absolutely great,” she explains.  Mr. Titus-Glover offered, “Paris is more formal.  But I used to travel there frequently when I worked for a law firm, and it’s always a treat.  Madrid showed so much vibrancy.”

One of the coolest parts about the trip?  Seeing our students exhibit their ever-growing language skills.  “I got to see first-hand French I and II students picking up on what people were saying,” Titus-Glover explains while referencing that more advanced students were able to have actual conversations.  “It was great to see the things they learned this year were not lost on them.”

What an amazing opportunity for our students!  We’re so glad you had a memorable and safe experience, and next year…TAKE US WITH YOU!
