National School Bus Driver Appreciation Day

Every day, either as children or parents, we appreciate school bus drivers.

They make sure that children go to and from school safely and on time. Parents are assured that once their kids leave their homes for school, they are in good hands. And of course, the schools  are also happy with the job of bus drivers. In recognition of their excellent efforts, Ohio County Schools is celebrating National School Bus Driver Appreciation Day.

Ohio County Schools Director of Operations David Crumm said he is proud of the school system’s bus drivers. He said they are dedicated professionals who are well aware of their responsibility.

“The bus drivers truly care for the students, and their priority is the safety of those children,” Crumm said. “They do a tremendous job. They make sure the students get to where the need to be, and they get them there safely. Each and every day, our bus drivers are working for our students.”

National School Bus Driver Appreciation Day is celebrated February 22 of each year. This holiday is all about appreciating school bus drivers for being good Samaritans to children.

“We’re very proud of our bus drivers,” Ohio County Schools Superintendent Kimberly Miller said. “We are grateful for the care and professionalism they display every day. They transport our most precious asset, which is our students. Our drivers are the first and last person our children see each day, and that is why they are so important.”
